Taking probiotics is a daily ritual that you should be partaking in if you value your mood, energy, and your figure. Probiotics don't only balance out the bacteria in our gut - they also help with nutrition absorption, reduce fatigue, balance your blood sugar and even help treat skin issues that stem from hormonal imbalances in the gut. The benefits of the right probiotic can really change how you're looking and feeling on the daily - but the question is: Which one is right for you? There are hundreds of probiotic brands on the market and it can be overwhelming to choose which one if right for you when every brand boasts about the benefit of taking their specific pill. Since high school I have tried a slew of probiotic supplements and I can honestly say there is no king or queen of the market - they have all benefited my health in different ways. I have listed some of the brand's I've tried below and categorized them into how they fulfill certain wants and needs.
If you already take supplements: Hum Nutrition: Gut Instinct

Hum Nutrition offers customers a great deal on supplements, giving out tons of promocodes and different subscription plans. All of Hum's supplements are 100% natural and vegan, including it's probitotic. It is rare to find a vegan probiotic that isn't double the price as a milk culture based one, yet Hum's Gut Instinct Probiotic is not as expensive as one would think when compared to other brands with similar quality ingredients. Choosing Hum is also smart if you're into healthy supplements because Hum offers a personal assessment and matches you up with other supplements that will aid your specific deficiencies or imbalances.
If you don't want to spend: Nature's Bounty Acidophilus Probiotic

If you don't want to invest too much money into a probiotic I recommend this one. It doesn't have all the added benefits of sticking to a vegan, organic brand with more strands of bacteria, yet it it 10x better than skipping a daily probiotic all together. I used to take this one in high school and I remember noticing a slight difference in bloating, digestive issues, and my skin. You can find it in most drug stores and I haven't seen it for more than $13, which is an amazing deal considering its 120 tablets.
If you don't feel like searching: Culturelle Adult Digestive Health Probiotic

Like Nature's Bounty, Culturelle is easy to find. This probiotic is more expensive, yet has way more active cultures to benefit your digestive system. Culturelle probiotics are my go to when taking antibiotics because I feel they are a bit more powerful and fast working than my usual vegan-based formula. Another pro of choosing Culturelle is you only need to take it once a day, whereas other brands strain my short term memory suggesting 2-3 times daily.
If your New Year's Resolution is to get healthy quick: Garden of Life Raw Probiotic for Women

Garden of Life really kicked butt with this formula. Vitamin Code is not only a probiotic, but a raw whole food multivitamin and digestive enzyme thats 100% vegan and raw whole food based. If you don't already take a multivitamin or have a diverse, whole foods based diet, you are probably lacking in some essential nutrients. Vitamin code is a great choice if your goal is to take control of your health as a whole, instead of just focusing on your digestive system. This supplement has been my go-to since discovering it this summer and I have seen a big change in my mood, digestive patterns, and energy levels.
If you're always getting sick: Align Daily Immune Support

If you're someone who always gets a cold when the weather turns, try Align Daily Immune Support. This supplement gives your immune system a boost with a large amount of the BB-12 strain, known to be the most beneficial to immune health. It is also known to aid lactose intolerance, helping to breakdown dairy in your gut.
If you want my personal favorite: Probulin

I started taking Probulin when my pharmacy was out of Garden of Life. I have only been taking Probulin for a few weeks, yet I already see a difference in my mood and digestive patterns. My pharmacist recommend it to me and described how Probulin isn't focused on the amount of strains, but the type and quality of them and their impact on the female digestive system. Probulin uses a specific system called MAKTrek 3-D: a combination of a harvested extract of brown seaweed to protect stomach acid and an encasing that ensures the bacteria will activate once in your system.
